This solar wall light is shaped like a traditional porch lantern — a white frame with clear panels and a filament-style bulb inside — but the sloped roof is a solar panel and there is a PIR sensor set into the front. A single button cycles through three modes, which is what makes it more flexible than most solar lights: it can stay dark until someone approaches, sit at a low glow and jump to full brightness on movement, or simply hold a low light all night. It charges itself through the day and needs no cable, socket, or switch, so it can go on a fence, shed, or porch wall where there is no power.
Key Features
- Mode 1 — Sensor: Stays off, comes on at full brightness when motion is detected, and switches off again 15 seconds after the movement stops.
- Mode 2 — Low Light with Motion Boost: Holds a low glow all night and rises to full brightness on movement, dropping back after 15 seconds.
- Mode 3 — Low All Night: Steady low-level light from dusk until the battery runs down.
- Design: Lantern-style white housing with clear panels and a warm filament-effect LED.
- Power: Roof-mounted solar panel with an internal rechargeable battery; no wiring or mains connection.
- Automatic Operation: Stays off in daylight and activates once it gets dark.
- Dimensions: 17 cm (6.7 in) high, 12 cm (4.7 in) wide, 6 cm (2.4 in) deep.
- Installation: Two-screw wall fixing, with screws and wall plugs supplied.
Usage Scenarios
- Mounting beside a front or back door so the entrance lights as you reach it.
- Lighting a shed, garage, or outbuilding that has no power run to it.
- Marking a garden path or gate with low light on Mode 3.
- Covering a side passage or bin store on Mode 1, where light is only wanted when someone is there.
Before You Buy
- Give it a full charge in direct sunlight before first use, and mount it where the panel gets sun for most of the day — runtime drops in shade and in winter.
- Mode 1 gives the longest runtime, since the light is off between triggers. Mode 3 uses the most.
